Violet surrounded by her friends at her birthday party. Remind me never to invite that many 5 year olds to my house.....
So this is my last post. I am closing up shop after 5 plus years. I started this blog when Vi was but a pea in my belly, a time when I had so much to say and no one around except for Andrew that I really wanted to say it to. Anymore I don't get here to tell you about our lives and then I feel guilty, rushed and so on.... I want to devote more time to documenting Violet's life on paper, with her art and her words. I am going to continue to take pictures so I opened a Flickr site so that you can see pictures of things that are important to me including Violet when she holds still long enough for me to get a photograph. And if I ever decide that blogging is an avenue I want to pursue again you will be the first to know.
Thanks for coming here to read my words. It has meant very much to me. I will leave you with a short story.
Violet appeared at my bedside early this morning at 4:30AM. She, I don't want to cuddle with my dog anymore, I am too shy. Me, Okay Violet. Why don't you put the dog on the floor by your bed and cuddle with another animal? Did I really think that was going to work?
She, But Mom, I don't want to cuddle with another animal I want to cuddle with you.
Me, Okay babe. I'll be right there.
How very sad. Yes,only words but so much sharing. We will truly miss every single letter. We will look forward to any forms of communication. Thank you for the six years. g&m

i understand and i am excited to see your flickr pictures. thank you so much for the past 6 years. you have no idea how much your archives meant to me when i was pregnant and when jack was wee. i have learned so much from watching you help violet grow and i have loved getting to watch her turn into an amazing little girl. see you elsewhere on the internet! i have been lurking...er...reading your blog since last summer when I found out I was pregnant with our little girl. I stumbled upon you by way of my friend Betsy Walls...who originally had me check out Sierra's blog...six degrees of separation and all that.
I have enjoyed your voice here - thank you for sharing your world. I only hope that I can raise my little girl to be as interesting and self expressive as yours.
Blessings to you.
